SOCIAL WORKER/PROJECT COORDINATOR

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Project Coordinator, you will work closely with our team, clients, consultants and volunteers to deliver improved operations, governance and reporting. You will also help us implement the infrastructure for our new programs in housing, education and training. If you have additional experience in social work, you will provide clients direly in need by connecting them to the support necessary to enable improvement in life.

You will be expected to provide detailed reports to the President and our stakeholders.

This job provides you with flexible hours on a part-time basis until June, with opportunities to extend employment at the end of contract.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating volunteer deployment and recruitment to our different programs
  • Providing information and regular support to stakeholders
  • Provide feedback on fundraising strategies and sustainability of our programs
  • Provide feedback on current operations for scalability and future growth
  • Help implement the infrastructure for our new projects, such as setting up social work software and data base.
  • Provide community support services, such as assisting clients with social work and referrals
  • Utilise reporting tools for St Merkorious to capture social impact data
  • Induct and instruct fellow staff and volunteers on now and ongoing policies, procedures, and new tools
  • Provide support to staff and volunteers
  • Drive to different project locations as necessary

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a passionate, experienced project coordinator or social worker. At least 5 years of project coordination or social work experience in the Not-For-Profit sector will be highly regarded.

  • Are compassionate, kind, and driven to help your community
  • Can compartmentalise, multitask and prioritise tasks
  • Have experience in assessing budgets and measuring social impact
  • Have knowledge of industry best practices
  • Can use Microsoft Office, and familiar with CRM
  • Can work in virtual teams
  • Able to work flexibly in teams or alone
  • A strong communicator, including with vulnerable communities.

Qualification requirements:

    • A Bachelors or higher degree in a related discipline with demonstrated experience in working with Not-for-Profits or
    • A certification in a related discipline with demonstrated experience and good references in relation to role duties.
      • Related disciplines include Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Health, Education, Business, Business Administration, Sociology, Economics, Communications, Marketing, Management, Law, Counselling
    • Working With Children’s Check
    • Valid NSW Driver’s License
