Art on Timber with Safaa Shaker
June 2024 was an exciting month for St. Merkorious Charity, as we proudly hosted Art on Timber in collaboration with the City of Canada Bay Council. This enriching art course, led by the talented artist Safaa Shaker, took place every Thursday at the Rhodes Community Centre.
Participants gathered each week to explore the unique art of painting on timber. Under Safaa’s guidance, they learned new techniques and brought their artistic visions to life on beautiful wooden pieces.
Participants enjoyed a delicious hot lunch together from our kitchens, which provided a perfect opportunity to socialize and forge new friendships.
The success of Art on Timber has inspired us to continue offering creative programs that foster connection and creativity. Stay tuned for more exciting events and workshops in the coming months.
